so einfaches Kleidungsst\u00fcck, im Westen ein solches Unbehagen ausl\u00f6st? Warum ist es ein so negatives Symbol f\u00fcr den Islam und dessen vermeintliche R\u00fcckst\u00e4ndigkeit, f\u00fcr Unterdr\u00fcckung oder religi\u00f6se Aggressivit\u00e4t? Auch meine Gro\u00dfmutter trug bei der Gartenarbeit ein Kopftuch. Doch auch ich sp\u00fcre ein Unbehagen. Habe den Eindruck, dass ein Kopftuch aus einem jungen M\u00e4dchen eine alte Frau macht. Besonders in der schwarzen Variante, der Farbe, die bei uns f\u00fcr Tod, Trauer und Angst steht, ist es nicht gerade vertrauensbildend. In Teherans City allerdings gibt es reichlich Frauen, die offensichtlich auch nicht viel von der Kopftuchpflicht halten: Zu todschicker Kleidung wird ein transparentes Nichts von einem Hidschab getragen, provokant weit am Hinterkopf befestigt, so das Gesicht und Haare fast komplett freibleiben.<\/p>\n<p>Im Iran existieren viele parallele Welten: Private Feiern auf denen der Wodka str\u00f6mt neben tiefreligi\u00f6sen Zeremonien. Arm \u2013 reich, weltlich \u2013 religi\u00f6s. Gegens\u00e4tze treffen aufeinander, leben aber auch miteinander &#8211; immer stolz auf Ihre Wurzeln und das kulturelle Erbe des Landes.<\/p>\n<p>In Jahrhunderte alten St\u00e4dten wie Shiraz, Kashan oder Isfahan mit chaotisch tobendem Stra\u00dfenverkehr begegne ich der Architektur aus den \u201eIsnogud\u201c-Comics. Lehm- \u00a0oder Ziegelgeb\u00e4ude, die gerade zu Staub zerfallen oder soeben neu errichtet werden. Die Altst\u00e4dte sind gepr\u00e4gt von kubistischen, nicht allzu strengen W\u00fcrfeln, die wild und wahllos aneinander geklebt scheinen &#8211; im Braun der Erde oder dem Gelb der W\u00fcste. Dar\u00fcber thronen monumentale melonen- oder zwiebelf\u00f6rmige Kuppeln, streichholzd\u00fcnne Minarette, reich und farbenpr\u00e4chtig mit Mosaiken verziert, nachts von gr\u00fcn bis pink angestrahlt. Hundert Prozent Tausendundeine Nacht. Ein bizarres, aus der Zeit gefallenes Panorama, indem mich auch der Anblick eines fliegenden Teppichs nicht weiter \u00fcberraschen w\u00fcrde. In den Labyrinthen der Basare, den Shopping-Malls aus der Vergangenheit, findet man den verschwunden geglaubten Bilderbuch-Orient mit all seinen Verf\u00fchrungen und Leckereien.<\/p>\n<p>Daneben jedoch die st\u00e4ndige Konfrontation mit dem anderen Iran. Die Jungen und Gebildeten leiden unter der Perspektivlosigkeit &#8211; und wollen weg. Die Sehnsuchtsorte sind London, Melbourne, Paris oder Berlin. Mein Tischnachbar fl\u00fcstert \u201eIch bin Atheist\u201c und erz\u00e4hlt mir, dass er allein f\u00fcr diese Aussage sterben k\u00f6nnte. Ein anderer, der mit seinen Freunden auf der Stra\u00dfe abh\u00e4ngt, entgegnet auf meine Frage, was er von seinem Land h\u00e4lt, wenig begeistert: \u201eNo bar, no music, no club\u201c und zuckt nur mit den Schultern. Kein Kommentar zur wenig toleranten Politik der Mullahs.<\/p>\n<p>Die Herrschaft des Mullah-Regimes ist ein Produkt des Zufalls und einer fatalen Fehleinsch\u00e4tzung des Westens. Was sollte der alte Tattergreis Khomeini nach dem Sturz des Schahs schon anrichten k\u00f6nnen? Der \u00dcberfall auf die junge islamische Republik durch den Nachbardespoten Saddam Hussein hat die iranische Gesellschaft dann hinter Khomeini zusammengeschwei\u00dft. In einem unglaublich brutalen Krieg wurde sogar Giftgas &#8211; auch aus deutscher Produktion \u2013 eingesetzt. Kinder r\u00e4umten Minenfelder, weil Esel und Maultiere zu schlau waren, sie zu betreten. Noch heute werden die Bilder der gefallenen M\u00e4rtyrer \u00fcberlebensgro\u00df auf unz\u00e4hligen H\u00e4userfassaden gepinselt. Auf dem Behescht-e Zahr\u0101 (\u00fcbers. \u201eParadies von Zahra\u201c), dem zweitgr\u00f6\u00dften Friedhof der Welt im S\u00fcden Teherans, werden ihnen pomp\u00f6se Denkm\u00e4ler gesetzt. Gew\u00fcrdigt werden dort aber auch Terroristen, die sich in den Caf\u00e9s von Tel Aviv in die Luft gesprengt haben. In einem offenen Brief an \u201edie westliche Jugend\u201c, der in vielen Hotels aush\u00e4ngt, erkl\u00e4rt der aktuelle Revolutionsf\u00fchre Khamenei der Jugend in Europa und Nordamerika im \u201eNamen des mildt\u00e4tigen, des gn\u00e4digen Gottes\u201c die Gr\u00fcnde f\u00fcr das Ph\u00e4nomen Terrorismus. Er erw\u00e4hnt einerseits den \u201aisraelischen Staatsterrorismus\u2018 \u00a0unter dem die Pal\u00e4stinenser seit 60 Jahren leiden, die von wirtschaftlichen Interessen gepr\u00e4gte Politik des Westens im Nahen und Mittleren Osten und f\u00fchrt die doppelten moralischen Standards der westlichen Welt an. Alles richtig, aber warum verurteilt Khamenei nicht auch ausdr\u00fccklich jeglichen Akt barbarischer Gewalt gegen unschuldige Zivilisten? Warum hat der Iran nach der Vertreibung der irakischen Invasoren noch jahrelang weiter Krieg gef\u00fchrt und seine Jugend geopfert?<\/p>\n<p>Der Iran ist auch das Land der endlosen Gespr\u00e4che mit Museumsw\u00e4chtern, Gesch\u00e4ftsleuten Restaurantbesitzern\u00a0 &#8211; eigentlich einfach jedem. Die Menschen sind, in einem im Westen unbekannten Ma\u00df, aufgeschlossen, ungemein freundlich, kultiviert und immer bem\u00fcht, Fremden das Land mit seiner uralten Kultur n\u00e4her zu bringen. \u201eAlle Menschen sind gut &#8211; Deutschland ist besser. Unsere L\u00e4nder sind seit 500 Jahren Freunde\u201c, behauptet ein Bazaari, der sich \u00fcber seinen deutschen Gast freut. Und spielt damit auch auf in Deutschland l\u00e4ngst vergessene Verhandlungen zwischen dem Nazi-Regime und dem Iran an. Deutschland hat mehrfach nicht ganz uneigenn\u00fctzige Hilfe angeboten, wenn es darum ging, im Mittleren Osten Engl\u00e4ndern und Franzosen in die Suppe zu spucken. Stundenlang habe ich mit Zufallsbekanntschaften die Geschichte der letzten 50 Jahre diskutiert und in K\u00fcrze noch die 2500 Jahre davor abgehandelt. Die unr\u00fchmliche Rolle der CIA bei der Beseitigung des demokratisch gew\u00e4hlten Hoffnungstr\u00e4gers Mossadegh, der dem Land die Herrschaft \u00fcber seine \u00d6lressourcen zur\u00fcckgeben wollte. Die 400t\u00e4gige Besetzung der amerikanischen Botschaft und die Geiselnahme der Mitarbeiter, die ohne diesen Coup der CIA nicht zu erkl\u00e4ren sind. Die Fernsehbilder der besetzten Botschaft, die das Image des Iran f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten Dekaden ma\u00dfgeblich negativ gepr\u00e4gt haben.<\/p>\n<p>Es bleibt der Eindruck, dass das Land weder Ost noch West ist. In meinen Gedanken dr\u00e4ngen sich die gastfreundlichen Menschen in den Vordergrund, die fast immer auch eine Meinung zur Lage ihres Landes und zum Weltgeschehen haben. Der Iran wird mir als Land in Erinnerung bleiben, das f\u00fcr neugierige Reisende immer eine \u00dcberraschung und neue spannende Erfahrungen bereith\u00e4lt. In dem man sich stressfrei und sicher bewegen kann \u2013 abgesehen von den Outlaws hinterm Steuer, die den Stra\u00dfenverkehr zu einem anarchistischen Tohuwabohu machen. Eine Fata Morgana frisch aus der Zeitmaschine, ein orientalischer Traum, r\u00e4tselhaft, geheimnisvoll und unbedingt empfehlenswert!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>English version<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I ask myself, why such a simple piece of clothing leads to such an unease in the West. Why is it such a strong symbol for a supposed backwardly Islam, for suppression or religious aggressiveness? Even my grandma was wearing a scarf, when she was working in the garden. But me as well, I feel a little uncomfortable and have the impression, that a hijab turns a young girl into an old woman. Especially the black version, the color which stands for death, grief and anxiety in the West, appears not very confidence-building to me. In central Tehran, a lot of women not seem to like the hijab-duty so much. Amongst their posh clothing they wear a transparent nothing of a hijab, fixed provokingly at the back of the head, so that face and hair remain almost completely uncovered.<\/p>\n<p>Many parallel societies exist in Iran. Private celebrations with a flow of vodka exist beside deeply religious ceremonies. Rich and poor, worldly and religious: Contradictions hit each other, but live with each other as well \u2013 always proud of the roots and the cultural heritage of the country. In ancient cities with horrific traffic you meet the architecture of the Iznogoud cartoons: Adobe- (clay-) or brick buildings, which crumble to dust or have been built just recently. The old towns are marked, by cubistic, not to strict blocks, which seem to stick together randomly \u2013 in the brownish tone of earth or the yellow color of the desert. No comment to the less permissive politics of the mullahs.<\/p>\n<p>The regime of the mullahs is the result of coincidence and fatal misjudgment of the West. What kind of damage could the old dodderer Khomeini do after the fall of the Shah? Neighboring despot Saddam Hussein\u2019s attack on the young Islamic Republic welded together the Iranian society behind Khomeini. In an unbelievable brutal war even toxic gas was used. Amongst others delivered of German companies. Children cleared minefields because donkeys were too smart to enter them. Still today the pictures of martyrs are painted larger than life on the walls of the streets everywhere.
